In order to get a good sample of DNA from your saliva, it's important to avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for 30 minutes before spitting into the tube.
You may need to wait for several minutes to allow your mouth to produce enough saliva.
We recommend completing the paperwork portion of the kit while you wait.
